Sandy Supporting the Wild Trout Trust

January 12, 2015 1 min read

We get to work with a bunch of really great rod builders from all over the world and Sandy Nelson in Aberdeen, Scotland is certainly one of them.

Sandy has put together this sharp Epic build to help raise funds for the Wild Trout Trust in the UK, thanks for thinking of us and going for an Epic blank Sandy. The package is being topped off with a line from Mike Barrio at Barrio Fly Lines - cheers Mike!

I have built an Epic 480 in Nude for the upcoming Wild Trout Trust
auction here in the UK. The auction runs with an online catalogue and
on Ebay in early March (3-12).

The rod has a jade insert, a custom flor handle and is
whipped in silk with fine wire rings, its being auctioned with a Swift
Bag and Tube.

We'll keep you posted on our Facebook page with a link to the Auction when it goes live.

For example, under the AFFTA system for rating fly lines a 5 weight fly line is a 5wt regardless of whether it is a floater, a sinking fly line or an intermediate.

Last year at one of our regular "How do we make these better" chats (we dont have any meetings around here) - Trev suggested we take a closer look at the new Fuji Torzite stripping guides - I have to admit to being a little sceptical, to date we'd been using a very good titanium stripping guide produced by Alps.
