Here Epic Ambassador Peter Fisher runs through building a fly rod using the Epic Ready to Wrap fly Rod Kit

If you've ever considered building your own fly rod our 'Ready To Wrap' fly rod kits make the process simple. Everything you need to build a premium quality fly rod is included in each kit. Each fly rod building kit even includes a set of rod wrapping stands and our 42 page build book to guide you every step of the way.

In this fly rod building video Peter goes though all the steps in under 10 mins. The fly rod he's building is our 4 weight  Epic 476 FastGlass fly rod

  • Preparing the blank
  • Fitting the reel seat
  • Fitting the Cork grip
  • Measuring Guide spacings
  • Wrapping Guides
  • Applying rod building finish to each guide

The result is excellent!

Enjoy!

Maybe I am wrong. But is the video in the right order? The top eye is glued on the blank and later in the video the back of the blank is decided on, so the eyes can be placed on the right side of the blank.

Last year at one of our regular "How do we make these better" chats (we dont have any meetings around here) - Trev suggested we take a closer look at the new Fuji Torzite stripping guides - I have to admit to being a little sceptical, to date we'd been using a very good titanium stripping guide produced by Alps.
