    Absolutely Top Quality

Where do I start? Everything about my experience with Swift has been excellent, from the pre-sales customer service to the smallest detail of the Epic 580 kit. I was pretty nervous about my first rod build, but the instructions were clear and detailed, and the top quality components helped make things easier. There is also more than enough thread and epoxy for a few practice runs and mistakes. The blank itself looks and feels amazing. It is so smooth, but still casts with a good backbone. It throws dry flies into a decent breeze with no problem, and can toss a double nymph rig with sinkers and a big indicator fairly well. Playing fish on the rod is so enjoyable, it's almost hard to put into words. The rod is so sensitive, yet provides good strength when you bend it into the lower sections. It makes smaller fish more fun to play and bigger fish easier to land. I would venture to say that Epic kits are the best deal in fly fishing, and I couldn't be happier with the decision to try a Fastglass rod. Like many other reviewers have said, I'm already saving for the next Epic and looking forward to fishing these rods everywhere I can.

    580

Great stuff from Epic Swift. It turned out ok considering it was my first build ever. Easy to follow the instruction book. But maybe some youtube movies would make it even easier, specially for a rookie fly rod builder like me. Have used the rod a couple of times, love the action and great rod to catch fish on. can highly recommend it, great customer service from NYZ

    So Blue 580 kit

This is my fifth Epic build. As before all the components are excellent, the finished rod is nicely balanced and rod casts a five weight line beautifully. These rods fish well and are amazingly tough.

    Swift simplicity

Perfection delivered in a box ready to wrap, and a real joy to do so. The kit is more than I expected and my finished rod is a real joy to behold. I'm thinking this may be the first of many.

    Simply Epic

What else can I say? The Swift Team is simply EPIC! In today's world it can sometimes be very difficult to find top not customer service that match a top notch product. Swift has both. This was my first fly rod build I've ever done and the Swift team was there to answer all the questions I had in a friendly and timely manner. On top of the customer service the 580 is magic. I'm not sure I have casted a smoother rod in my life. What makes this Glass so cool is that it has a backbone. No noodle action going on here at all. I throughly enjoyed every step of the build process and I haven't been able to put the rod down since I completed the build. Keep up the great work Swift, you have a customer for life!

  • THE MOST THOROUGH AND COMPLETE FLY ROD BUILDING KITS ON THE MARKET.

Each Epic Ready To Wrap Kit contains everything you need to make a great fly rod. The very best fly rod building components available, all designed to fit together seamlessly. No Reaming, No Drilling, No Sanding - all Epic.

No reaming, no drilling, no sanding. Too Easy.
Building a great custom fly rod is no mean feat, selecting the correct matching components can be an intimidating exercise alone. Then there’s those wraps, the cork and glue...

Our Epic Ready to Wrap Rod Kit makes life easy - we’ve done much of the hard work for you. The kit contains all the components, glues, rod finish and instructions you’ll need to build your own unique custom Epic fly rod.

The components in our Epic Ready to Wrap Rod Kit have all been specifically designed to work together. Each cork grip is ported to receive our Epic reel seats perfectly. Easily assembled step by step.

    FastGlass II
All Epic "Glass" rods are produced from industry leading 8 micron Unidirectional S-2 Glass. This next generation fiber is specifically engineered for fly rod production and features 8 micronfibers developed and produced in the USA. These fibres are almost half the diameter of other unidirectional materials, resulting in tighter, more precise and stronger fly rods.

    SnakeBelly
SnakeBelly™ delivers the toughest exterior finish possible. After production, blanks are first painted and then clear coated. This two step process produces blanks that are incredibly scratch resistant and durable.

    SureFit Ferule
Break a tip? we've got you covered  This ferule system is so precise that breakages can be addressed by simply sending out the replacement part. Gone are the days of having to return a broken section.

    Built Epic Tough
Epic glass rods are incredibly tough. Our S2 FastGlass II has a far higher strength-to-weight ratio than Carbon fibre (graphite) rods. Epic FastGlass rods can endure more acute and severe bends than the equivalent Carbon fibre or even regular S2 glass, tip sections are stronger and far less susceptible to breakages due to high-sticking and problematic rod angles when pulling against load.

"This is my 4th Epic build and things worked out great! I expect this rod will tame a few mako sharks this Summer. "
