The Epic 580 Ready to Wrap Rod Kit.

The very best components available, all designed to fit together seamlessly. No Reaming, No Drilling, No Sanding - all Epic.

Smoother than Barry White. The 580 is super versatile, super smooth and just slick as all hell. Our personal favourite, the 580 presents like a 4 but has the strength and lifting power of a big six.  Divorce your lifeless graphite 6 & hook up with an Epic 580, you'll be glad you did.

Building a great custom fly rod is no mean feat, selecting the correct matching components can be an intimidating exercise alone. Then there’s those wraps, the cork and glue..

Our Epic Ready to Wrap Rod Kit makes life easy - we’ve done much of the hard work for you. The kit contains all the components, glues, rod finish and instructions you’ll need to build your own unique custom Epic fly rod.

The components in our Epic Ready to Wrap Rod Kit have all been specifically designed to work together. Our premium grade cork grip features a tapered bore to fit your chosen blank. Each cork grip is ported to receive our Epic reel seat perfectly.

    Another Great Kit

This is my third kit from Epic, and it equals the quality of the first two. Everything about this kit is excellent and I cannot say how pleased I am.

    Epic 580 ready to wrap

Having read the instructions (2x) and watched a few You Tube videos, started on the build process last night, great quality components in the kit, the only thing missing was the guide spacing table (but this in online, so not a drama). Will let you know how the build turns out. Thanks Andrew

    Three seasons of Epic

For as long as i remember, i am, sorry i was an Orvis fan, so i wanted an Orvis glassrod. At least, that is what i thought. In the spring of 2014 i the USA and thought i could pick up one there. To cut i short, it did not work out. Back at home in Norway, i searched the web and found a company which offered a package deal, a "ready to wrap" they called it. I had no experience and gave it a go, why not, winters in Norway are long. I ordered a 580 "So Blue" and started wrapping. I was not satisfied with the reelseat and the corkhandle, thus using other components and finished the rod. Building the 580 was easier than i thougt. My first casts on my then home river, the "Renariver" where a real joy, i liked this rod from the start and we started a relationship, we bonded. My exes, then top of the line Orvis rods are sold and replaced by this 580, my rod of choice and a nude 686, nude 888, olive 476 and my soon to build mocha 376. The 580 is still my favorite and use it for most of my (river) fishing, but the others are valued members, they shine when needed. There will be a new 580 in my collection because i have the three piece and it is to long to have as e.g. airplane luggage. I hope there will be a 580 packlite, the 476 does not suit my need... but if not, i will probably go for the four piece... do i like swift fly rods? Yeah, they are Epic!

    Swift simplicity

Perfection delivered in a box ready to wrap, and a real joy to do so. The kit is more than I expected and my finished rod is a real joy to behold. I'm thinking this may be the first of many.
