Our mighty 888 was designed specifically for chasing Bonefish but is just at home wrangling large freshwater species like Carp, Pike and monster Muskie too. Given there’s not a flat where the wind doesn’t blow we’ve given the 888 an extra powerful butt section, strong tip and fast recovery rate to help punch a line out into those skinny water breezes.

The rod is just bangarang for bones and triggers in Belize ! I was shocked at how well the line turns over , the power of the rod and the crispness of how it loads is a revalation . This rod will go with me on every trip in the future with a smile on my face , on a more important note swift was able to expedite the rod build to get my product to me on a time crunch before my trip ! My hats off to the hardworking people at swift and thanks Haley you rock Sincerely -aaron-
I took the 888 Fastglass to Christmas Island. It performed great for bonefish and a trigger or two. Delicate presentation, but had the backbone to fight the bones and smaller triggers. Craftsmanship is excellent. Only thing I'd change is that the reel seat is a bit longer than it seems is required, but perhaps some people use reels with a longer foot-plate, not sure. Anyway, it's only a minor thing. The rod performed great and is a beautiful work of craftsmanship.
The build quality on the 888 FastGlass is phenomenal. Love the blue blank color and top shelf components. A pleasure to fish, just had to slow down my casting stroke. Have used 3,4wt glass rods on smaller fish but really enjoy fighting the larger Lahontan Cutthroat Trout on my local lake with a glass rod.
Last year I bought a fastglass 868 for estuary work and was so impressed I decided I needed a fastglass 888. I used it for the first time in Sydney targeting yellowtail kingfish and it was awesome. It casts brilliantly and handles fish with aplomb. I'll be looking to get the 10wt Bandit in the future.
